A tribute today to the late great Quincy Jones across his many incarnations since beginning as a trumpeter and arranger with the likes of Lionel Hampton and Dizzy Gillespie, and his own first band The Jones Boys.

Guests in the studio for the first half are the band After 'Ours, playing tracks and talking music and their new album. Blind Mango heads to the close with more tracks from several recently departed greats including Quincy Jones, saxophonist Lou Donaldson, and drummer Roy Haynes.

Blind Mango on the decks delivering more sweet jazz goodness. 

Your show kicks off with guitar music by Nicky Skopelitis, plays tribute to Brazilian arranger Sergio Mendes, who passed away last month. In the second half of the show he unboxes the new re-issue of the classic self-titled album by 1970 Tåmaki Makarau jazz-fusion innovators Dr Tree. Other selections include appearances by the Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Hubert Laws and the Mike Nock Trio.

Miss Dom - Gets excited about the newly awarded winner of the Best Jazz Composition Prize (Aotearoa) - Winner Lucien Johnson -  & also -  plays a bunch of new releases from Aotearoa. 
In our Podcast only feature - Dom keeps things homegrown  -  with music from Callum Allardice, & Joe Kaptein - & Dom -  ends on a lovely note -  playing the track - Drifting -  by one of the recent Best Jazz Composition finalists - Anita Schwabe.
