Blind Mango Chutney hosts the show this arvo — his second show in a set of '3 shows in a row' for him.

Blind Mango pays tribute to three recently-passed Jazzers: Kiwi/AUS Pianist Judy Bailey, playing a few more tracks from her rare 1964 album; Latin player Eddie Palmieri; & Lalo Schifrin, highlighting his work with Dizzy Gillespie.

He also hits up some little-heard jazz/rock/classical fusion with a Pink Floyd tinge! Before laying down some sweet, Southern Californian, lounge styles by the Baja Marymba Band — which he pairs to the Menu at San Ray. George Duke also makes an entrance for a spot of funky vocals.

It's all here, beboppers!

DJ Sassy (aka Little Parsnip) assists in the show's supporting role & Hosts the Jazz Gig Guide.

Miss Dom does the 'Pop In'  mid-show joining Blind  Mango & Sassy & Hosts the Vinyl Fair Guide. Plus does a spot of 'What's in Miss Dom's (Vinyl) Bag?' as she plays the B-Side of @thecirclingsun 7-inch Vinyl "Muzi' single titled 'Flora & Fauna.' Dom also pulls out a 'Mahavishnu Orchestra & John McLaughlin' track on 7-inch vinyl —  which sparks some convo. - Blind Mango returns by pulling out a 'super-dope' 7-inch outta his bag by local player Michal Martyniuk titled '3202.

A  record number of texts come through in the studio, including some from listeners in the U.S.A., & Asia. Great vibes, all-round, & generally a rad time had by all.

The Jazz Gang get into a real cool Jazz Hangout during the course of the show  - jamming some sweet tunes. Jason as Guest Selector shares a bunch of his favorite  jazz jams - &  for the most part -  Jason's selections are centered around his & the station's New York Neighborhood of the Lower East Side.

DJ Sassy joins & Hosts the  Jazz Gig Guide & also gets the crew percolating - by turning on a few rounds of super smooth, & awesome Expresso Martinis ! Miss Dom follows the Jazz Gig Guide with a Vinyl Fair Guide.

Blind Mango rounds off by paying tribute to the recently passed Lalo Schifrin - & then hits a high as he Fizzes at his recently purchased VG+ Gene Ammons vinyl.

Joining him in the studio this week is evergreen vocalist local legend Linn Lorkin, telling stories and painting colours from a whole lifetime in music—and *singing* her newest book: Linn Lorkin’s Song Book, lyrics referencing life from Grey Lynn to K Rd.

DJ Sassy pops in to fix microphones and deliver the Gig Guide and general sunniness.

And Blind Mango continues the tribute to Frank Gibson Jr., because there’s so much to play, and to others to whom the Grim Reaper has been unkind this week: Sly Stone, who needs no introduction, and trumpeter Al Foster, best known for his work with Miles Davis.

It's called The Jazz Show. It happens every Sunday from noon thru 2 pm on Radio bFM. It's been going for years and we're all very proud of it. The hosts rotate and every few weeks it's Def Jim's turn. As usual, today he played various selections from his recent listening that he thought you'd all really like, including artists such as Adam O'Farrill, James Brandon Lewis and Creative Construction Company. Plus he spoke a tribute to the great Anthony Braxton, who turned 80 last Wedneday. It's a great podcast - enjoy!
