It was quite the party on Rāmere Drive! Beth Torrance kicked things off with the first Friday Live of the evening, playing several tracks from her just-released EP in the bFM lounge to a crowd of vollies and staff. Then LIPS turned things up a notch for the second Friday Live and played their new track with E From EELS, plus a couple more to get us all excited for their Halloween show with Thee Golden Geese! Huge thank you toMcLeod's Brewery and NZ On Air Music for supporting Friday Live! Towards the end of the evening, Nick spoke to the artist currently sitting at the top of the 95bFM Top Ten and played a first spin of the second track of his new EP - Julian Lubin! Elle spoke with Robber Robber, about their sophomore album Two Wheels Move the Soul, released earlier this year. The album was written in amounst precarious circumstances, after a fire had sent their building to demolition.

Elle spoke to Molina about her single released February this year, Golden Brown Sugar. Rebecca spoke about her working relationships and friendships with contemporaries such as Smerz, ML Buch, Astride Sonne and Fine, her turn towards acoustic instruments and how the space between releases leads to greater exploration within her music.
Molina is a Danish-Chilean producer and musician based in Copenhagen. Golden Brown Sugar, is full of grounded imagery within a lyrically complex narrative. One texter said they wanted it played at their funeral.
In September last year, British artist Baxter Dury released his ninth studio album, Allbarone, under Heavenly Recordings.
From the end of this month, Dury will be performing across the globe as a part of his Allbarone tour, with two dates at the Hollywood Avondale in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland on the 2nd and 3rd of May, and at Meow Nui in Te Whanganui-a-tara Wellington.
Joel spoke to Dury ahead of this tour, chatting about the album and how he’s feeling about heading down under.
