The album, originally released in 1976, features the most amazing line-up of Aotearoa's most stunning, & best Jazz players 🎹🥁🎷🎸🎺🎶🎵🪘 Including Kim, alongside the equally legendary bandleader, composer, & drummer Frank Gibson Jr. Plus the project's Musical Director — the late great Murray McNabb, just to name a few of the album's greats.

Blind Mango Chutney on the jazz decks again today. Joining him in the studio his week is Joe Kaptein to talk and play tracks from his new album 'Eternal Afternoon.' (Said to be "Yacht Jazz," says Joe!) And Ben from the Creative Jazz Club (CJC) talks about some salivating upcoming gigs — but not before some Christmas cheer from the Bill Evans Trio.

Ahead of some highly-anticipated new releases soon to come down the pipe (tune in on a regular basis folks...), Def Jim revisits a few choice recent drops from the likes of Tomeka Reid, Ivo Perelman and Angelica Sanchez, raids the 60s & 70s Avant vaults for shiny pearls fiom the New York Art Quartet and Julius Hemphill, slots in a personal favourite from Oregon and in between tarries in a few waystations in Jazz Guitar Heaven.

Your show kicks off with guitar music by Nicky Skopelitis, plays tribute to Brazilian arranger Sergio Mendes, who passed away last month. In the second half of the show he unboxes the new re-issue of the classic self-titled album by 1970 Tåmaki Makarau jazz-fusion innovators Dr Tree. Other selections include appearances by the Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Hubert Laws and the Mike Nock Trio.
