International: Activists from global south to join climate change summit

7:58am at 4 September 2022

Activist groups from around the global south are joining to demand justice and action at the the 27th UN Climate Change Conference, otherwise known as Cop27.

These activists are from countries that are most affected by the climate crisis but are experiencing the worst impacts.

They are advocating for resolutions such as adaptation funding and reparation from countries that are most responsible for global heating.

Cop26, which was held in Scotland last year, was described to be exclusive and focused on the wrong issues. Climate activists are hopeful that this year, Cop27 combats the climate crisis properly.
