Album Of The Week: Fontaines D.C 'Skinty Fia'

ALBUM OF THE WEEK: Fontaines D.C - Skinty Fia

Irish post-punk quintet Fontaines D.C are back with a third album, Skinty Fia. A funky sonic metamorphosis brimming with shifting moods, startling insight, and considerable emotional wallop, Skinty Fia is deeply tied into their Irish identity. Bassist Deego explains “we really tried to hold on to the things that made us Irish. There’s a sentimentality of sitting in an Irish pub in London, surrounded by other Irish people and it’s 4am, the lights are going off and half-remembering these old songs. On the other hand, there’s something dark and a little bit bleak about that.”

We reckon it’s so good that we’ve made it our Album of the Week. If you’d like to win yourself a copy then just load up your bCard and stay tuned to 95bFM all week between 19-22 April for your cue to enter.

Skinty Fia is available 22 April on vinyl and CD wherever fine music is sold.
