City Counselling

The White Lady food truck has recently had it’s licence extended by twelve months by the Auckland Council. 

This came after weeks of tension, due to a complaint against the white lady being made by a store that operates nearby it. 

The store complained about rubbish being left on the street, and of drunk customers loitering nearby.

This led to The White Lady having it’s licence restricted, which saw major backlash to the council for punishing struggling local businesses.

Liam had a chat with Auckland City Councillor Pippa Coom about the licence renewal, as well as various other efforts to revitalise the city centre.

Auckland's mayoral elections and getting closer and closer, and the beliefs of some candidates have been called into question by commentators.

Many have pointed out candidates who have links to conspiracy groups, and others have criticised the policy of larger candidates such as Viv Beck.  

Liam had a chat with city councillor Pippa Coom about her take on the candidates, as well as her thoughts on the Transport Emissions Reduction Pathway.

The deadline for nominations to run for local body elections has just ended mere minutes ago at 12pm.

Signs have been popping up around Tāmaki Makaurau, as the beginning of prep work for the upcoming decision begins.

Liam spoke to Pippa Coom about the election, as well as changes to housing regulations beforehand, on our regular City Counselling segment.

Auckland Council's next planning committee meeting is taking place next Thursday. 

The topics list includes a decision on mass housing reforms, which could see rates of housing intensification rise across Tamaki Makaurau.
