A couple of hours of songs on or around the subject of war, given what's in the headlines. Folk and country and blues singers been writing these for a long time...

Blues has laid the foundation of my musical experiences , there is no country music , americana, Jazz , Soul even Rap and Hip Hop without the blues.......... I tried to demonstrate that in this show. Have a listen , tell me what you think..... email studio@95bfm.com if you feel the need!

A whiter shade of pale translated into American by Dan Reeder. Kinda defines my attitude this sunday. Varius obscure covers of Bob Dylans songs by Laura Marling , The Handsome Family, Shelby Lynne and Alison Moorer ..... Takes my breath away. Favourite song tonight ? weeeeel Ric Danko from 1977 ' Sip The Wine".

Border radio hand picking gems from all along the American Music timeline. From dodgy 70's Doobie Brothers attempt at folky CSNY vibes through to the beautiful brand new track from Sierra Ferrel, and newly discovered treats like Sunny War. As well as Neil, Skynyrd and Drive By Truckers.

Radio is a funny business. One week i am asking people to txt in so i don't get lonesome. The next 30 people txt spontaneously. I had so many compliments on the music last night , i'll have to listen again and see if I can replicate that feeling . Starting with Matt Berninger (the National Vocalist) and Kris Kristoffersen set the tone and rousted out the roosters who like to comment on my behaviour. Next week deputy Paul will be amusing y'all!!!

Sometimes i'm stumbling around in the dark , looking for new artists , it might seem all the old people are dead !  Usually this leads me to a list of new people who get me excited again. Listen in , find the ones you like on the net or Spotify and off we go again. Big Boy Crudup does a fine job of closing the show by shaming Elvis with his version of "Thats Alright Mama" right at the birth of Rock and Roll.

A few of last year's picks and top tunes, seasoned with some roots music from Bill Monroe & His Bluegrass Boys.

Some show standards, bunch of new stuff and some tunes off a couple of the end of year 'Best of' lists. Features potentially amusing ongoing battle between DJ, laptop and Serato. Disclaimer: If you could see the text machine in the studio you'd see just how much love there is for a bit of Lynyrd Skynyrd on a Sunday night in summer. Crazy.
