Māori Settlement Dates w/ Fiona Petchey: November 17th, 2022

New research was released last week taking an archeological look at the time Māori people settled in Aotearoa. 

The new dates set the timing of arrival on Te Ika-a-Māui, the North Island at  AD 1250 and AD 1275.

For Te Waipounamu, the South Island, the timing looks like 1280 AD to 1295.
