 'Murmurs' is a solo presentation of new works by Tāmaki Makaurau based artist Imogen Taylor. Teasing out the push and pull of abstraction and figuration, Taylor conjures enduring forms as part of a sensual approach to painting. With brightening hues she investigates intimate relationships with bodies, both human and non-human, as well as communication and what might exceed it. Arts community organisation Proud Dad is bringing their mix and mingle events to Tāmaki Makaurau for the first time, taking place at the Birdcage Tavern on August 23rd. 

Proud Dad has been running for a few months, aiming to support artists across the motu and amplify their work. 
The event is aiming to bring a less businessy lens to networking, allowing for a chill space for artists to meet, connect, and make some pals.
Liam talked to the proud dad himself, Taylor Nixon, about the event and the organisation's kaupapa.

Women In Film and Television (WIFT) have this week highlighted information gathered from a series of industry surveys that have revealed the extent of the gender pay imbalance in the sector. Just last night at Studio 445 on Karangahape Road, the Without Appeal Collective’s ‘A Garden To Banish Loneliness’ window exhibition had its opening night. 

The exhibition will be on until the sixteenth of August, and explore collaborators Will Greeson and Iulia Boscu take on a futuristic sci-fi landscape that reassess the optimism that used to be in futuristic fiction. 
Liam had a chat with the duo to learn more about the exhibition and what went into it.
