A 15,000 strong petition was presented to parliament yesterday, calling on the government to place a moratorium on freshwater exports. But Environment Minister Nick Smith has rejected the petition, saying it was a farce and was irrelevant to the important discussion on better managing New Zealand’s freshwater resources. Producer Adam Jacobson speaks to the Minister to further understand why he flat-out rejected the petition.

New data revealed this morning that Aucklanders spend 4 weeks a year stuck in traffic. The report, released by GPS company TomTom, says Auckland is New Zealand's most congested city and is ranked the 47th worst globally. But Transport Blog’s Matt Lowrie says this data may not be painting the full picture. Producer Adam Jacobson speaks to Matt about the stats and what March may hold for commuters across the Auckland transport network.

A report released via Statistics new Zealand shows food pricing at a 5 year high. The Food Price Index shows that food prices have risen 2.2% across the board, with the most significant changes occurring in fresh vegetables, meat and dairy products. Manager of Consumer Pricing Matt Haigh talks with producer Adam Jacobson about the Food Price Index, and if a trend may be occurring.

Do you know what your neighbourhood looked like 100 years ago, and can you envisage your neighbourhood in 100 years from now? Those are the questions an upcoming documentary, Now & Then, is asking. Made by local filmmaker, Ursula Williams, the film takes looks at artist John Radford & his alter ego Ron, who together are making and selling 256 highly detailed miniature replicas of early 1900’s suburban bay villas for a major sculptural installation and participatory performance, Graft. Fixated on the destruction of inner city domestic architecture, the work comprises two hillside precincts from his imagined suburban oblivion. Williams joins Ximena in the studio to tell her more about Radford's work & and about how her film will examine it.
