It's a sunny Friday morning in the bFM studio and Rachel and Zoë are coffee'd up and raring to go.
They kick off by chatting movies with Fabian Fanboy.
They then elegantly segway into the Travelling Tunes segment with Dr. Kirsten Zemke who this week takes them down the glorious rabbit hole of television theme songs, including the likes of Hawaii Five-0 and Twin Peaks.
Then they're joined in studio by the one and only, force of nature Disciple Pati to talk about her fantastic new release, ATMA. All of this good stuff is of course interspersed with the usual fantastic tunes picked by Rachel.
Today on your bFM Breakfast: Rachel & Sarah discuss their year's most played tracks + invite the listeners to do the same; Will's got bad news; Pennie's got grunge; Jenna's got a novel that's reminding her of Pulp's 'Common People'; and Justine's been inundated with Xmas queries.
This week, Theo spoke to Lucinda Birch about the artist publication Somewhere Else, and Karen Rubado about her Melanie Roger exhibition soft ware. We also went down some musical rabbit holes, listening to selections from Lost in the Stars (The Music of Kurt Weill), and David Byrne's Sounds from True Stories.
I tēnei ata kei te Hōtaka Parakuihi: Mayor Phil Goff is on the line having a good chat about what's happening in Tāmaki Makaurau in Sounding Off with Phil Goff; bb Gurl joins us in studio to chat about Loud And Proud Festival and their new track; and we learn about spinal chords in Ready Steady Learn with Darren Svirskis! Whakarongo mai!
I tēnei ata kei te Hōtaka Parakuihi: Rachel's away in Pōneke, so 95bFM Top 10's Annabel takes up the reigns in the best way. In and amongst Annabel's tune picks there's all the usual good stuff. Penelope Noir talks kilts in Fashun, Jenna Todd tells us what's good on the shelves in Loose Reads, and Justine Sach's has got your back with all your workplace woes inRed Dead Redemption! Whakarongo mai, whānau!
