Might have gone a bit rogue tonight. There's a Bob Marley song with some nice slidey guitar in it, so I played that. And Calexico played Echo & The Bunnymen's Killing Moon at their show, so I played that. And I played the very psych-border vibe of Dirtwire, and a cool song called Cowboy by Palo Santo, and an Australian band called The Mountains, played them. And Mary-Elaine Jenkins and Tori Forsythe and a new one from Julia Jacklin and that Sun Kil Moon song, Carissa, about his cousin. And a whole heap more.
Another cracking start to the week thanks to our old mate Jack. Stonking tunes and captivating yarns to bring you in to the short weeks. JR will be away next week but will make his magnificent return the following week.
This week Rachel brings ear treats in the form of Mazzy Starr, Tom Tom Club, Portishead and M.I.A. alongside some cockney accent attempts and general tom-foolery.
In celebration of New Zealand Music Month we played 100% New Zealand music which included a ton of new favourites! We threw back to this time last year and visited some in-house Live To Airs from NZMM 2018 and got to take a look into the past with Murray Cammick on My Morning Mixtape.
