Album of the Week: Geneva AM - 'Pikipiki'
Our mate Geneva AM has just graced us all with her debut album Pikipiki!
A collection of bilingual music that intends to uplift the listener, the term 'Pikipiki' means to climb up. Geneva explores themes around overcoming obstacles, perseverance and figuring out how to fulfill her dreams.
Pikipiki takes a piecemeal approach to genre, utilising Classical, Dance, Drum’n’Bass, and Emo Rock to accompany new bilingual songs and reimagined covers of Aotearoa favourites—such as "Pokarekare Ana," "Tūtira Mai Ngā Iwi," and "Pūrea Nei." The album also features a number of iconic kiwi artists.
