After a hiatus following their first release in 2019, Young Baptistare back with new material. The Tāmaki Makaurau four-piece is comprised of vocalist and guitarist Hugo Collins, drummer Emlyn Williams, Tim Burrows on lead guitar, and Nico Fitzpatrick on bass. Whakarongo mai nei to hear their forthcoming singles, plus a live version of a tune familiar to bFM listeners, Ice Cold Sensation. Keep an ear out for more recorded tunes set for release this year.
Priya Sami stops by the 95bFM studio to talk about Bub, her Taite-nominated music project. Bub's debut album, Can't Even, is a finalist for Best Independent Debut. Priya tells Thursday Morning Glory host Emma Gleason how it feels to have songs she began writing as a teenager acknowledged for such a prestigious prize. They also discuss The Strokes, The Warriors and using music as a coping mechanism. Priya is playing at the Powerstation tonight with The Beths. Holly Shervey joins Thursday Morning Glory host Emma Gleason to talk about her new show Crackhead, which charts the trials and tribulations of a young woman sent to mental health facility The Laast Resort to deal with her addiction issues. Shervey discusses how her own experiences in a mental health unit informed the show, how the whole series came together, and what they used for that visceral faeces scene.
Crackhead is airing on Sky New Zealand’s TV3 and streaming on 3NOW.
