He loved movies so much, he moved to the movies. Now based in Hollywood, Fabian Fanboy returns to the bFM Breakfast fold as our *exclusive entertainment correspondent in Fabian's Hollywood. Every Friday at 7:40am.
Fabian's had a crazy week, with some big jobs but always has time to review the latest Hollywood blockbusters. So what's out this week? Talking Sorry to Bother You, and Creed II (it's a sequel, folks). Oh and Mike doesn't like the film, Karate Kid.
From the depths of Hollywood, Fabian dials in to chat to Tess about some good ol' (new) movie releases this week. Special mention goes to Widow, Steve McQueen's latest number, and Fabian reckons it's a ~popcorn~ film. Oh and we can't forget Disney's newest release too, obviously.
Fabian Fanboy is catching up Mikey over all sorts of film-related things, let's just say, Mike is somewhat excited about a new trailer for Toy Story. Everybody has been talking Fantastic Beasts (you know, the Harry Potter one) and even Lillian runs into the studio to join to chat. Exciting stuff in the movie world.
After some sad news from the States, we chat to Fabian Fanboy crossing live to California. There are many movies to be reviewed this week, however, talking which movies have come out in New Zealand this week, including the highly anticipated, Suspiria, with the soundtrack by Thom Yorke. And who she go to see this one, Fabian?
Fabian Fanboy's dialing in from Hollywood talking one of Mikey's favourites from the week, Bohemian Rhapsody, before we segway into what's terrified Tess the most this week...
Everybody's been talking about it, and it's here... But does it live up to the hype? Fabian Fanboy catches up with Mikey over A Star Is Born, Bradley Coopers latest endeavour, about whether it lives up to the praise. As well as talking about all these horror films that come out around this time of the year, you know, ~Halloween~ and all that.
It's not always sunny in LA, because today it's raining.. Hmm, sounds like Auckland, really. Fabian reckons there are some BIG movies coming out this week, (still excited by NASA, from last week) singing the praises of First Man. Bad Times at the El Royale is also out this week, and it's full of style. And Mike really wants to interview Peter Jackson, he wants to ask him about his shoe situation...?
Fabian is still pretty excited about his NASA visit last week, oh, and he's in New York. Talking First Man and He Won't Get Far on Foot, Fabian reckons some of these films could be more exciting than being in bustling NYC.
Fabian has been scrolling to memes while watching the movies, and he reckons the memes might even be better than the movies. Talking the Zendaya is Meechee meme vs. Small Foot, what's better Fabian Fanboy?
Dialing in from Hollywood to remind lil' New Zealand what's good in film at the moment, Fabian Fanboy nominates A Simple Favour, directed by Paul Feig, as a thriller comedy (is this a new genre Fabian?). But please, no spoilers for The Predator!
