Cabinet Reshuffle, Submissions on the Treaty Principles Bill, and the Regulatory Standards Bill w/ the ACT Party’s Simon Court: 20th January, 2025

Yesterday the Prime Minister announced a cabinet reshuffle, demoting Shane Reti from the role of Health Minister and replacing him with former transport minister Simeon Brown.

This is just one of the many changes to the shape of cabinet. Alongside this Chris Bishop takes over Brown’s transport portfolio, and Melissa Lee, who was already demoted from media minister last year, is stripped of all her responsibilities.

Brown, who takes over the Health portfolio, has no previous experience in the health sector, which is already in a ‘crisis’.

For our weekly catch up with the ACT party Producer Evie spoke to Simon Court about the party’s thoughts on these changes.

They also discussed the Regulatory Standards Bill, which was part of the ACT party coalition agreement, and is now up for debate. As well as the technical issues concerning submissions for the Treaty Principles Bill.

But Producer, Evie started off by asking him about yesterday’s cabinet reshuffle.
