Yesterday the government announced that face masks worn in the red setting must be medical, surgical or three-layer cloth masks rather than scarves, t-shirts or other face coverings. They are also expected to announce the next two phases of their Omicron response, including incorporating rapid antigen tests (RATs) more into New Zealand's testing strategy.

This week Zazi talks to Brooke about her favourite political moments of the year, goals for next year, as well as her plans for summer.

In the first half, Brooke discusses what she thinks were some political highlights of 2021 (so far). Brooke shares what she is most proud of, what she thinks were some highlights from the Government and the National Party, as well as if she believes ACT could have performed better in any areas, this year. 

In the second half, Zazi speaks to Brooke about her future goals for 2022, asking Brooke what she would like to see get tackled next year.

And finally, Zazi asks Brooke about her summer plans. Brooke tells Zazi what she is keen to do over the December and January period, whether she is wanting to leave Auckland after the city had more than a hundred days of lockdown, as well as if she is going to go to any summer festivals.

This week Zazi and Brooke talk about the Christopher Luxon being elected the new National Party Leader and the new Omicron coronavirus variant.

In the first half, the two talk about the announcement yesterday that Christopher Luxon has been elected the new National Party Leader, alongside Nicola Willis as Deputy Leader. Zazi asks Brooke what the feeling around parliament was after the announcement, if Brooke believes Christopher Luxon is experienced enough for this role and whether she believes this new leadership will result in more National Party voters.

In the second half, Zazi speaks to Brooke about the new coronavirus variant. Brooke shares how concerned she is about the new variant for Aotearoa, and talks about vaccine access in both developed and developing countries.

This week Zazi and Brooke talk about the subject of minimum wage increases and the new Workplace Vaccination Tool.

First off, the two talk about minimum wage increases. Zazi asks Brooke why ACT believes a moratorium should be put on minimum wages, if Brooke has sympathy for minimum wage workers, and whether she thinks businesses would stop failing if a moratoriuman were to be put in place. 

Then, Zazi speaks to Brooke about the new Workplace Vaccination Tool announced yesterday. Brooke shares if she thinks this will be a good guideline, if she thinks the Government have done a good job with guidance and advice, as well as if ACT are more on the side of blanket vaccine mandates or on the side of mandating vaccines for specific businesses and workplaces.

This week Zazi and Brooke talk about the APEC Leaders Summit that recently took place, as well as the 1 News Colmar Brunton poll.

First off, the two talk about the virtual Summit that took place on the 11th and 12th of November. Brooke shares if she thinks Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern did a good job with hosting this year, what she thinks of the Aotearoa Action Plan that was endorsed, as well as if she thinks climate change issues are one of the biggest economic challenges facing the world today.

Then, Zazi speaks to Brooke about the 1 News Colmar Brunton Poll results that came out this week. Zazi asks how Brooke feels about these results, what she thinks of David Seymour being above Judith Collins in the preferred Prime Minister poll, as well as if she thinks COVID-19 impacted the National Party's results.

First off, the two talk about the easing of restrictions in Auckland, with the city moving to step 2 of Alert Level 3. Brooke shares whether she is happy with this next step, and how she feels about retail owners enforcing their own rules surrounding Covid-19 safety and regulations.

Then, Zazi speaks to Brooke about some summer festivals getting Government financial aid due to the threat of Covid-19. Zazi asks if Brooke thinks this scheme should extend to smaller events that have less than 5000 people, if she believes summer festivals are a good incentive for young people to get vaccinated, and how she thinks these festivals will impact our local economy, if they go forward.

This week Zazi and Brooke talk about the End of Life Choice Act, COP26 and The Act Party’s “Vax Break Policy”.

First off, the two talk about the End of Life Choice Act. Brooke shares how she has been involved in implementing the legislation, whether she expects New Zealanders to immediately use it, and how widespread concerns are about this Act.

Secondly, Zazi speaks to Brooke about COP26, and whether Brooke still thinks it was the wrong move for James Shaw to attend. Zazi also asks Brooke about India Logan-Riley's speech at COP26, to see if she agrees that climate change issues are rooted in colonialism.

And finally, Brooke talks about the ACT Party's 'Vax Break Policy'. She discusses how a $250 tax credit could increase vaccination numbers, if there has been any interest or support shown from other Parties or the Government, and why she believes incentive is an important angle to think about, aside from general access to vaccinations.

This week Zazi and Brooke talk about the COVID traffic light system and the vaccine mandate for workplaces requiring a certificate of vaccination for entry.

First off, the two talk about Aotearoa New Zealand’s New COVID-19 Protection Framework. Zazi asks Brooke if she supports the framework, what she thinks this means for reopening the international border, and whether she thinks this framework discriminates against vulnerable communities.  

Secondly, Zazi asks Brooke about the Government announcing that vaccines will be mandated for workplaces requiring a certificate of vaccination for entry. Brooke shares whether she believes this was a logical move, if vaccine mandates are a good way to lift vaccination rates, and also talks about why she believes businesses should have a choice in having mandated vaccinations, over the Government enforcing them.

This week Zazi and Brooke talk about three things: the new housing density rules, Aotearoa’s inflation being at its highest in over a decade, and also the fact that pregnant women and their partners do not currently get priority for MIQ spaces.

First off, the two talk about the new Resources Management Amendment Bill that the Government and National Party announced yesterday. Zazi asks Brooke about David Seymour's "hollow stunt" comment, ACT being a supposedly "libertarian party", and the Party's alternative solution to address Aotearoa's housing affordability problem. 

Next, Zazi and Brooke talk about Aotearoa’s inflation being at its highest in over a decade. Brooke shares her concerns, where she thinks our economy will be in the next 7-12 months, and what projects she believes were not worth the Government spending billions of dollars on.

And finally, Zazi asks Brooke about pregnant women and their partners not currently getting priority for MIQ spaces. Brooke talks about pregnant couples she has spoken to, about their experience with MIQ, and whether the support for women during this latest COVID-19 outbreak has been enough.
