Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 22,000 women in Aotearoa have lost their jobs. In the wake of this, the Women in Trades Collective is working harder than ever to encourage women into trades as a career option, and work with employers to help support women when they get there. They spoke about what ‘the trades’ are, barriers that stop women getting into trades, and what the organisation is doing to encourage the trades as career options for women.
