Tertiary Education Union Takes Legal Action Against AUT redundancies w/ TEU Organiser Jill Jones: 25 January, 2023

Late last year, AUT announced 230 redundancies among a number of other cost-cutting measures, despite making a $12 million surplus in 2020 and 2021.

The Employment Court has now ruled in favour of the Tertiary Education Union (TEU) in their legal action against AUT. 

AUT has been fined for breaching their collective agreement with staff, and will have to restart their redundancy process.
