Benefit Changes for Young People, Reserve Bank Slashing the OCR, and the Protest at Winston Peters' Home w/ Labour’s Shanan Halbert: 9 October, 2025

The government is introducing changes to the eligibility criteria for 18- and 19-year-olds to access JobSeeker. 

Yesterday, the Reserve Bank cut the official cash rate by 50 basis points to 2.5 percent. 

And Labour Leader Chris Hipkins has urged Foreign Minister Winston Peters to “dial back the rhetoric” following an attack on his home by a protester.
