My last show of 2023, which concludes my 15th year at the almighty b! A huuuuuge thanks to everybody who has tuned in these last 12 months and big aroha to Ponsonby Social Club for sponsoring us! Much love team :)
Kirk's back again. We lost one of the greats this week, R.I.P to the legendary Frankie Beverly. We played a few from his band Maze to start the show, also a few tributes later on in the show. We also celebrate the release of the new Nathan Haines album 'Notes' which we played a few songs from. Also marking 50 years since the release of the Jackson Five's Dancing Machine album & 40 years since Stevie Wonder's The Woman In Red soundtrack album.
All that & loads more. Cheers.
Today on your bFM Breakfast: Jordan Mooney stops by to talk about playing some other dude called Jordan in TVNZ's new Sunday Theatre'The Dance Exponents: Why Does Love?'; Steph keeps her surf spot secrets in the face of Mikey's insistence; Troy joins us a little earlier and we all get a little wiser in From the Crate; Ant Healey and Fazerdaze talk to Mike about songwriting and the 2017 APRA Silver Scrolls longlist announce; and everyone else is either freezing, moving house, or in France.
Lee was away this week, but it's a great show nonetheless!
