Tom talks to Ema Tavola, founder of Vunilagi Vou - a new gallery, consultancy and shop in the heart of Ōtāhuhu. Ema talks to their recentshow LAIN BLO YU MI – Our People Our Lines . It was an exhibition that payed homage to Auckland-based Papua New Guinean-Australian mark maker, Julia Mage’au Gray, and her significant role in the revival of Melanesian female tattoo practice. She spoke about their new FAFSWAG 6 show, and reflects on FAFSWAG's humble beginnings in her living room. Tavola kept giving little hints at how varied and exciting her life has been of late - speaking trips to Morocco, Hong Kong, and The Democratic Republic of Congo (to speak to the legacy of Bauhaus) have featured in her life.

Interpreting nature's forms is the theme of the week, as Theo is joined in studio by two artists with work showing off Karangahape Road at the moment. First up is Sena Park, who has woven a web of debris and netting with her RM exhibition, Aliveness_Symbiosis_on K-rd. Later in the show Jimmy Solórzano came along to talk about Echoes of the Coromandel, a four channel installation (with guitar) at the Audio Foundation. We also heard some banging tunes, and had a brief art guide to round up the show.
Stop drop and roll! It’s the 95bFM Top Ten, with your hosts Annabel and Callum. Tonight on the show, we put chart analyst Dr. Jon Pearce to the test with some big boy chart predictions; Callum made radio history by talking about songs from the 1996 film The Big Lebowski; and Annabel gave some wise TradeMe advice in her new segment “Trade Secrets” typical solid stuff, all while counting down the top 10 songs in the nation! Get down, get low, get out!
Julia Waite joins Theo in studio to talk about Bill Culbert I Slow Wonder, an exhibition Julia has curated at the Auckland Art Gallery. Later on, Fiona Connor calls in from LA to discuss her work in the Physics Room's Light enough to read by, an exhibition springing from the reinstatement of the Physics Room library.

This week on the show; Dr. Jon Pearce was suuuper distracted by some construction (?) in the bFM Data Centre after the flood last week; Callum played some horrifying music from the 2018 supernatural flop Suspiria; and Annabel gave Callum some TradeMe advice on playing the loooong game… all while counting down the biggest songs in the nation.
