Frances Chan and Miss Dom play 100% NZ musicians to celebrate NZ Music Month, plus sax symbol Nick Atkinson is live in the studio blowing his baritone and bass clarinet and spinning a few yarns.
Frances Chan pays homage to several albums celebrating their 50th anniversaries! 1971 was an epic year in jazz for sure. Plus some recent releases too.
Rubadub dub… it’s the 95bFM Top 10 with your hosts Annabel and Callum! Tonight on the show; we called a very distracted Dr. Jonathan Pearce to talk mostly about the leak in the 95bFM data centre; we listened to 15 minutes of uninterrupted jams from the Interstellar (2014) soundtrack; we heard an exclusive interview with synth magician Jono Nott about our friendship and his pop-project ONONO; and Annabel provided some hot TradeMe tips in this weeks “Trade Secrets”... all while counting down the biggest songs in the nation! And that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
Jimmy Solórzano joined Theo in the first half of the show to talk about A Room that Echoes, a festival of immersive sound he has co-organised at Audio Foundation. Jimmy introduced some recordings by artists contributing to the festival, as well as a piece of his own, under the name JIM-S. Later on, Simon Gennard came in for a chat about editing As Needed as Possible, a new book from Enjoy Contemporary Art Space, which collects a diverse set of writings on art, labour, and collaboration.
Make it rain! It’s the 95bFM Top 10 with your hosts Annabel and Callum. This week on the show; Dr. Jon Pearce was suuuper distracted by some construction (?) in the bFM Data Centre after the flood last week; Callum played some horrifying music from the 2018 supernatural flop Suspiria; and Annabel gave Callum some TradeMe advice on playing the loooong game… all while counting down the biggest songs in the nation.
