The Women’s Collective is a group which focuses on fostering conversations around global issues that affect our community.
Their most recent event ‘Lead like a girl’ focused on the issues of entrenched biases and damaging expressions such as the term “like a girl”.
A panel of 6 female leaders who are currently part of the Global Woman Breakthrough Leadership programme discussed these issues and how they ‘lead like a girl'.

Yesterday was Waitangi Day, the day we commemorate the signing of New Zealand's founding document the Treaty of Waitangi. Things were relatively quiet this year, although there was the issue of the media being banned from the lower Te Tii Marae, and the Prime Minister Bill English not showing up to Waitangi on the day. On Sunday, Vice New Zealand held a special panel discussion on Waitangi Day. Reporter Sam Smith went along and filed this report.

Following their partnership with the One Pacific Party, the Māori Party are proposing a new visa category for climate change refugees from the Pacific.
The Māori Party announced the policy last week, alongside an one-off amnesty for Pacific overstayers.
The new refugee status stands alongside the party’s other climate change policies of planting 100,000 hectares of forest over 10 years and subsidising solar panels in the regions and poorer communities.
Co-leader Marama Fox told reporter Mack Smith the threat of climate change was no longer on the horizon.
