Another Sunday with Kirk James at the helm of the Swapmeet Enterprise. The usual cup of tea with lots of funk/soul/boogie type tunes, 100% vinyl (excuse the crackles).
Emergence Vol. 1 by Renick Bell & Fis as the Play It Out album for the week (~each puchase of the album plants 100 trees!!)
~ 'Mother Of The Future' by Electro Keyboard Orchestra, in response to "Ive had a hectic as fuck day at uni and the feeling I'm requesting is anxiety." for the Emotional Request of the week (out to the number ending in 649, and all the spring-time txters on the request line)
New music from Dawn Diver, French For Rabbits, Mura Masa, Frank Ocean, Jehnny Beth (Savages), FKA Twigs, Lucy Dacus and more. And on the Long Player, Dunedin artist Stef Animal tells us about her Spooky House video game and accompanying soundtrack!
Number 2 really crept up on me but here it is, two more hours of hit after absolute hit. I'm playing a fair bit of Mac Dre tonight, with some of the best grind to come outta Eastern Europe, lots of weirdo post punk/goth shit all held tother with synthy interludes and doses of obscurity. It's a playlist from me to you.
I left it late this week, I was still dubbing the show right up untill I left to head into the station. Its a mess, but its a dope mess, loads of mean Japanese stuff, weirdo noise shit, a track of the new massive sounding Crawl Of Time tape, loads of new black metal, heaps of shit you know the buzz.
