Rachel was lucky enough to chat to Sampa The Great ahead of her phenomenal sold-out gig at the Hollywood Avondale on saturday. Her latest album 'The Return' came out in september, and sees Sampa exploring homesickness, cultural diaspora and community as ways of grappling with her own spiritual identity. Listen back to hear about how these ideas informed her record, plus her thoughts on what it means to be a black woman working in Australia's burgeoning hip-hop industry. Ka rawe!
Ravi and Kierron join Zoë in studio to chat about their show at the Basement theatre, Take The Crown. The pair chat to Zoë and Rachel about queer representation in theatre and the power of having a platform. Would it really be a theatre guide in January if we don't talk about Shakespeare? Get yourself along to Macbeth at Shakespeare in the Park and Much Ado About Nothingat the Pop-Up Globe. Plus, one last mention, Oldest Friend, at the Pumphouse Theatre.
Jenn is joined by Zoë, Rebekkah and James, to talk about the birds and the bees, ahead of Night of the Queer, the show that's returning to TAPAC for Auckland Pride featuring an exotic garden of earthly delights. A few hours (or so) before you serve – add 1 bottle of Ārepa to all the fruit and add half of the orange AND pineapple juice. Add 1 lemon and 1 bottle of soda water.
When you are ready to serve, add another bottle of Ārepa, the rest of the juices and soda water – juice from another orange and lemon – and serve in a chimney glass with an orange slice garnish. Spoon some of the fruit into the bottom of the glass & garnish with fresh berries, too!
