Lucia plays some of her favourite folk and country songs as a tribute to Bernie Griffen, 95bFM Border Radio host and musician who did so much for alternative New Zealand music. He was a testament to the power of music to help us and generously passed that power on to many people. Rest in peace Bernie.
Thanks for tuning in to another Thursday Morning Glory with Sam! Today's show focuses on moody ambient soundscapes to take you through a winter's morning in Tāmaki. I also play a lot from my latest obsession, Compost Records - with their new deep house compilation, and some 'elektrokraut' from Fred und Luna. Ka kite!
For our lovely summery long Labour Weekend show we continue with our chapter book the Secret Seven by Enid Blyton, chat about camping and Armageddon and have lots of cool chats!
Thanks to the wonderful NZ Maritime Museum - Hui te Ananui a Tangaroa - for sponsoring the show!
APOLOGIES - there was a hiccup with the start of the show record and we miss about 20 minutes of the story.
We start our new chapter book - The Wild Robot - and we chat with Claudia Gunn about her upcoming performance at the tuning fork, and about being a finalist for Best Artist at the 2024 NZ Childrens' Music Awards!
We also take a listen to all of the finalists for those awards and laugh at Lee stumbling over every word.
Sorry about the delay for this one - there was a, ah, human error.
Break dawn with Elle! Brew some coffee, debrief your weekend and get ready for your week with some, Royel Otis, MJ Lenderman, Francis Sect and some incoherent ramblings of a 20-nothing girl at 5am.
Tuva'a was on wake-up duties this morning whilst Jonny holidays! Featuring Travelling Tunes with Dr Kirsten Zemke thanks to Drake Street Studios, and a bunch of epic music!
