This week; chart analyst Dr. Jonathan Pearce did some quick maths LIVE ON AIR; we had a couple of VERY special celebrity guests call into the program; and Annabel told us why some whisky tastes like band-aids (in a good way)! All this while counting down the biggest songs in the nation… just normal Wednesday stuff.
Take your pick from Afrofunk, big band boogie, moody antipodean horns, good vibes (literally) and much more – Blind Mango Chutney delivers another discerning jazz selection.
💚 An electronic / dubby / jazz-adjacent first hour sees returns from old favourites Mala, Calibre, Glass Beams & Nilüfer Yanya. Look out for a controversial appearance of a Kate Bush cover and a brand spanking newYard Act release.
Things get taken down a bit at the start of the second hour, think more ethereal and dream poppy: Beach House, HTRK.
The final hour has a few classics from the likes of the Headless Chickens and Eric B. & Rakim with a scattering of great singles from the tail end of 2023 + some campy dance adjacent selections via Tokischa / Ninajirachi.
