This week we spoke to Salene from @long_distancebooks, an instagram bookseller of obscure curiosities, based between London and Tāmaki Makaurau. Later on we caught up with Virginia Auton, who has collaborated with Nat Kai Emmet Miller on the exhibition Sharing Things with Friends, at Satchi & Satchi & Satchi gallery. As always, we played some excellent tunes and slightly flubbed the Art Guide.
Today on your bFM Breakfast: Nothing like that first morning coffee to kick start the show; the Prime Minister dials in to catch up with Rach for the first time in this new year; Rob's talking Weetabix, beans, Twitter and beer; Rachel was lucky enough to have a chat with Femi Kuti and Made Kuti; Tim runs us through the media news; and Gregg from Big Scout chats to us about the new single. Nice to see the sunshine return!
Zambo is back on the sound waves with a sweetly soulful yet empowering selection of funk tunes. The Isley Brothers, Ann Sexton, Fela Kuti, Ella Fitzgerald and more sing about important things like love and hot pants.
