Plus, a chance to win tickets to Kate Bollinger and a copy of Bar Italia's new album on vinyl! Whakarongo mai nei!
If you've ever been unfortunate enough to be cornered into one of 'those' kinds of bucket-bong yarns about music with me then you'll no doubt have had the punishing experience of hearing my thoughts on grindcore, in particular the 90s. This show in itself, is essentially modelled after 90s era Chaotic Noise Productions mixtapes; classics like Audio Terrorism, Earfull Of Shit and Evolution Of The Mutant Species showcase the obscure, the aggressive and the absurd woven together and presented on the only medium shit like this was made for. Few bands have ever satisfactorily bridged that gap between noise and grind but if anyone deserves the goddamn crown it's Suppression, who continue to be a huge influence on me, and this show; which is why I'm stoked to present you this mixtape curated by Jason Hodges from Chaotic Noise Productions. It's an obscene journey through classic hardcore records, ancient noisecore demos, stacks of stuff from the current CNP Roster and the latest shit from Suppression all woven together with news reports, prank phonecalls and late-night call ins.
First it was the wrong theme track, then it was Newsroom technical difficulties, and finally a Fire Alarm!? What's going on at the B? Ooh, there's also a lot of weed news and some brilliant wine sampled too!
My last show for several weeks, as I'm heading overseas, ended abrubtly because the music was soooo hawt it set off the fire alarm. *That last bit may or may not be true.
