This Morning GloryHuia dove into a few different genres. She played new tracks from Courtney Barnett and School Fair which later morphed into a small inpromptu britpop segment. Leading into Fancy New band the tunes moved to some local rap/hiphop for this weeks artist Joe Foley playing songs under 'Sophisticated Sarcasm'.
For Fancy New Band today Huia was joined by Grey Lynn based rapper, Joe Foley who was showcasing his current project 'Sophisticated Sarcasm' to which the name says it all, he's able to blend well thought out lyricism, cheeky remarks and still pull a strong sense of vulnerability and honesty to his art.
This Morning Glory Huia took listeners through a few different vibes, starting of the show with some moody 'winter songs' then towards Fancy New Band the tunes got heavier and then declined into some pretty indie folk.

Today for Fancy New Band we had Pretty Grim come in to play!
Pretty Grim is a local indie rock/grunge band that has been gigging in Tāmaki Makaurau for the past few years. Earlier this year they realesed their first single 'Pill Cutter' that was completely recorded, mixed and mastered in their own home. Their sound is heavy yet emotionally articulate. Make sure to have a listen !
