Hello! After being away in Oz I'm on day 12 of i-s-o-l-a-t-i-o-n so this show was put together in a secret bunker studio somewhere within the confines of Tāmaki Makaurau. I'm still working on adding voice breaks so I can tell you what it is that is transmitting via the good ship bFM, but until then it's just you and the music.
Nau mai, haere mai, Plato's Retreat are at full capacity this week, thanks to Cassels Brewing Co.
Sam and Jenn turn up a little dusty but are positively jiving by the end of the show. This week includes some auspicious firsts (the first Peter Gabriel track and first drum'n'bass track played on the show from Teremoana Rapley), and one big second: the return of the Cassels Milkstout, recently re-crowned BEST MILK STOUT IN THE WORLD.
Today on your bFM Breakfast: Getting through Monday with two cups of coffee and a dash of hot tunes; Penelope Noir returns to talk goths, specifically, Dave Vanian; Suri joins us with a book review that you'll add to your reading list; and Justine answers all of your union queries. Nothing like bFM Breakfast to help you through the Mondayitis.
This week, the team get up to all of the usual shenanigans, playing an eclectic mix of music, snacking heavily, and reviewing things. Of special note is that that crew are joined by Dan from show sponsor, beer subscription service Beer Hug. Dan talks us all through beer subscription, underwear subscription services, and of course, so hard to find beers from the Epic box on offer this month (use code bFM15 at checkout to get $15 off!).
