A group of local musicians have announced the launch of Women About Sound, a project aiming to help more New Zealand women to develop and record their own music. The project will provide mentorship and support to female musicians through the process of composing and recording original music. 95bFM reporter Katie Doyle speaks to project leader, Jess Haugh, to find out more.
If you're interested, the first workshop will take place on 19th March from 1-4pm at the Audio Foundation. This workshop will feature Ladi 6, Caitlin Smith and other female musicians in the music industry discussing challenges faced by female musicians. A group of students organising a protest against rape culture received online threats of violence forcing them to change their protest location. The protests follow an incident involving facebook comments from students about having sex with drunk and unconscious girls. The protests are focused on the broader issue of normalisation of rape culture in New Zealand, and will take place on Monday where the students will march through Civic Square in Wellington. 95bFM reporter, Tess Barnett, spoke to Korowai Tumanako clinician, Russell Smith, who helped start a high school programme that teaches sex and consent, about the situation.

30ml Abelforth's Bathtub Gin
10ml Grand Marnier (orange liqueur)
10ml Absinthe
10ml egg white
60ml special chocolate sauce (Ronnie made a litre of this using Puhoi Caramel Vanilla sauce, Whittaker's L+P chocolate and 200ml of Baileys. You could sub with Puhoi Valley chocolate milk for simplicity)
Shake over ice, pour into an icy cold glass, garnish with orange zest and sip through a cinnamon stick.

Missionary’s Downfall
In a blender, add:
30ml Plantation 3 Star White Rum
15ml lime juice
15ml peach liqueur
30ml 2:1 honey mix
¼ cup diced pineapple
¼ cup fresh mint leaves, tightly packed
¾ cup crushed ice Blend, pour into drinking vessel, garnish with a mint sprig and pineapple wedge.
2:1 Honey Syrup Heat 2 parts honey (liquid honey works well) and 1 part water, stir to combine. Lasts up to 2 weeks refrigerated.
