The government's decision to lift most COVID-19 public health measures has raised concerns about the risks to vulnerable communities.

Green Party spokesperson for COVID-19, Teanau Tuiono told 95bFM's The Wire that he is concerned for immuno-compromised and disabled people, and that their well-being should be at the centre of the government's response.

"We should think about what should be done for vulnerable communities, and how they are going to go to the supermarket when people aren't wearing masks."

Tuiono called for stronger ventilation standards in public venues to ensure vulnerable communities can go about their normal lives without putting their health at greater risk.

He will meet with the Prime Minister in a week's time to discuss the issue.
