James Shaw is the only candidate contender for the Green party co-leadership after nominations for the position closed.
Shaw failed to secure the confidence of three-quarters of party delegates last month, with at least a quarter of delegates voting to reopen his job for nominations.
Shaw had copped criticism from some party members, who considered him too moderate and inactive on climate change.
Other party members tipped for the role have ruled themselves out of contention in recent weeks.
As the only nominee remaining, delegates now have the choice to vote for Shaw or to reopen nominations.
To win the co-leader election, Shaw will have to win 75 percent of the vote, with the results to be announced by 12 September.
