The state of Assam in Northeast India has been hit with severe flooding, which has submerged villages, destroyed crops, and demolished homes.
The Government has set up 1425 relief camps in the state, but even those are in a dismal state.
Authorities are estimating that 32 of the 35 districts in the state have been affected.
At least 4.7 million have been displaced, and 45 people have died.
An environmental science professor at Assam University says that climate change has undoubtedly increased the prominence of extreme weather events in the country. Still, other factors such as deforestation are also playing a part.
