Camp mother Kat Saunders and Street Chant's Billie Rogers drop by to talk to us about Girls Rock! Camp Aotearoa - an international initiative that the pair are helping establish in NZ which aims to unite young women within the confidence, empowerment and general kickass-dom of creating their own music. Up to 40 campers aged between 12-17 will take over MAINZ next January... and you can help amplify them all the way to eleven.

Check out their Boosted page and get involved HERE.

Natalie stops in to chat about the piece she's helped bring to TEMPO, the yearly festival of dance that unites 700+ artists to perform in a vibrant programme that celebrates the discipline's diversity. Natalie's piece, Orchids, was a collaborative three years in the making and while it's sadly sold out this time around... it'll hopefully return to Auckland audiences soon before it launches into the wider world.

With their five date NZ tour already underway, Die! Die! Die!'s Andrew Wilson calls in from the shadow of the Huntly Power Station to talk promoter fibs, touring plans, and the band's new album Charm. Offensive.

Today on your bFM Breakfast: Fabian's found a VHS timewarp; gig announces to scream primally about (lol); Dr. Zemke comes out in favour of the flautist; we get involved in helping Girls Rock!; we wax lyrical about a sold out dance show; Kelly's peeved and Reuben's wearing loungewear (and how); and Die! Die! Die!'s Andrew Wilson calls in from Huntly. What's wrong with that?

Fabian remains relatively unmoved by the Mountain between Elba + Winslet. Does Happy Death Day prove cinematic groundhog day in more than one sense? And what's all this about Slashback Video?

Dr. Kirsten comes out in favour of the humble (yet apparently bloody pricey) flute. Ignore the smutty talk of fingering and tonguing, we're here to get real about one of hip hop's favourite sampled instruments.

Assoc. Prof. Curtin preaches the virtues of patience in the face of a frenzied media. When there's a necessary local political news vacuum, should we be paying much heed to what fills it?

Delaney brought treats! No time for all that though, the listeners need to know: does the environmental impact of almond milk mean it's only a sometimes drink? Or are we killing the planet no matter what we quaff?
