The Jean-Paul Sartre Experience Announce Tribute Show

95bFM is proud to present a special one off Jean-Paul Sartre Experience show at the Hollywood Cinema on the 22nd of April.

Following the unexpected passing of their bandmate Jim Laing early last year, the band will reunite to commemorate their friend in the best way they know how. Special guests Buzz Moller, Matthew Heine, Robert Key and Shayne P. Carter will join the show to add their tributes to the much loved musician.

Jim’s slinky guitar lines, song writing skills and all round good guy-ness endeared him to many. His close friendship with Robert Key led to the formation of Lanky (Laing and Key) and was the perfect platform for Jim to showcase his talents as a songwriter, something he kept doing right up until the day he died. UK based Fire Records released I Like Rain: The Story of the Jean-Paul Sartre Experience – a complete collection of the Jean-Paul Sartre Experience back catalogue only months before his death, and there was talk of more writing to come.

There’s a big gap left behind without Jim, and for those who were lucky enough to have shared a stage with him, what better way to pay tribute than to perform a collection of his sly, sinuous, snaky pop songs. So join the remaining members of The Jean-Paul Sartre Experience, alongside musical guests, in raising a glass to the late and great Jim Laing.
